Convention Registration

California State PTA Annual Convention

Ontario, CA

April 27-29, 2018

See California State PTA in action at the 119th Annual Convention in Ontario this year. The general meetings are fascinating with the parliamentary procedure used and the issues debated. There are wonderful workshops to choose from. Come and meet other Third District PTA delegates, as well as network with thousands of other enthusiastic PTA board members as they learn about their new positions and important issues facing parents. State Convention is a great training opportunity for your unit and is a legitimate PTA expense. Third District has a scholarship fund that can help units sending delegates to convention with expenses. Fill out the application and send it to:

Districts - Councils - Units

Three levels of geographical organization are part of California PTA:

  • Units – The familiar local PTA at your child’s  school is called a “unit.” Organized and chartered according to rules  and regulations outlined in California State PTA bylaws, units are  self-governing organizations for the purpose of planning programs and  activities to meet local community needs. However, they are required to  observe policies of California State PTA and National PTA. Find out more  about your school’s  local PTA unit.
  • Councils – Councils are groups of member units that  come together for conferences, leadership trainings and other  coordinated area efforts.
  • Districts — District PTAs are large geographical  divisions of California State PTA, established to carry out programs and  coordinate the work of the councils and units.
